Prunella Scales and Patricia Routledge star in this popular follow-up to Radio 4's Ladies of Letters and Ladies of More Letters.

In Ladies of Letters... and More we were introduced to Vera Small, played by Patricia Routledge, and her bosom buddy Irene Spencer, played by Prunella Scales. Now the back-biting duo return, and their regular correspondence has been given a hi-tech boost with the advent of email. Suddenly they find they can communicate as often as they please!

As ever, there are domestic mishaps aplenty to fret about. Irene's daughter Lesley is refusing to marry the worthy but boring Brian. Vera's own exhausted daughter, Karen, has abandoned her third baby at the hospital and eloped with a male nurse.

Meanwhile Vera's son, Howard, and his partner Anthony are trying for a baby - with the dubious help of a surrogate mother and a television crew. Needless to say, one way or another Vera is bound to get involved.
