Steve Coogan is Alan Partridge. The crass chat show host who whas spectacular fall from grace in these three BBC TV episodes.

Knowing Me, Knowing Yule (29 December 1995)
In a special Christmas edition of his television chat show, the irrepressible Alan bids the nation good tidings from 'an exact replica reproduction' of the interior of his house - and counts the BBC's Chief Commissioning Editor amongst his guests. However, his attempts to secure a second series go far from well... in fact, they end in complete disaster

I'm Alan Partridge A Room with an Alan (3 November 1997)
Since the catastrophic end to his chat show (see above) Alan has been rebuilding his career as an early-morning DJ on Radio Norwich. His wife has left him for a fitness instructor, and Alan has moved to the Linton Travel Tavern - where, he says, 'they make a cracking Irish coffee'. In this first episode we meet Alan's personal assistant Lynn, whom he describes as being like Burt Reynolds - very reliable, but she's got a moustache,

I'm Alan Partridge Alan Attraction (10 November 1997)
The romantic excitement of Valentine's Day is tempered with ill tidings for Alan, who's faced with the prospect of giving up his Rover 200 and sacking everyone at his production company He still finds time, though, to whisk the lovely Jill off for a day at the local bird sanctuary, in the hope that she genuinely likes him 'sex-wise'.

About Alan Partridge...

Alan Partridge was born in 1954 in King's Lynn. His first break came with hospital radio, but he left after arguments with patients. He is a leading campaigner against the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre.

After five years on Radio Norwich as drive-time's Traffic Buster, he became resident sports reporter on The Day Today, but left. In 1993 he launched a new dimension in chat with Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge which transferred to TV the following year The show received massive critical acclaim from Bella magazine. Alan challenged the 'Chatus Quo' by accidentally shooting a man dead, live on air.

Alan has the 4.30-7. 30am slot on Radio Norwich 106.5 FM and recently presented a promotional video for Hamilton's Waterbreaks directed by Steve Bennett.

Audio books really are a wonderful thing, not only do they transport you to other worlds, introduce you to other people’s ideas and culture, they are also a lot more flexible than books. The book drains your time in a world where time is a very valuable thing, in mp3or wma format however; stories can be listened to anywhere and on any music device. It doesn’t matter if you use an mp3 players or a cd player, whether you are jogging, washing the pots or transforming the boring commute to work with excitement and intrigue and you can listen to them at any time.

Now with the internet audiobooks are a lot more accessible and easier to obtain than normal books, going online for them is quick, simple and saves time that would be other wise spend trawling through stores trying to find one you really want.

Many sites offer a few free downloadable introductory titles, to get you started and no doubt hooked on the splendour of them. What better way to spend a Saturday evening than to sit back, relax and enjoy a good audiobook, instead of renting a dvd or stagnating in front of the television. Unlike rentals, they can be kept for life and enjoyed again and again.
