Shiloh is the second book in a series of novels spanning the Civil War and describing its effects on one southern family. The Brannon son, Cory, is working as a riverboat crewman when he sees Union forces approaching and finds that he must choose sides.

James Reasoner, a veteran writer of historical fiction, is the author of several volumes in the Civil War Battle series as well as the Wagons West series. He lives near Azle, Texas.

Lloyd James hails from the Midwest. He received a B.A. in theater from a small liberal-arts college in New Mexico. He acts in the theater when his schedule permits and spends much of his free time working in his garden. He lives in Virginia with his wife and son.
